Monolithic, Insulated or Laminated glass and metal panel failures can be caused from fabrication, expired / incompatible materials, thermal issues or installation. SGC helps determine the source of the failure and a solution to help remediate and solve future issues.

Even the most stringent codes cannot protect horizontal glass from potential damage caused by sources outside of our control. SGC will help ensure the installation, fabrication and quality of the overhead glazing is sound for its intended purpose and will not pose as a hazard to pedestrians.

Storefront and Curtain wall systems have one thing in common, they are designed to allow water in with a means to evacuate. If weep holes, perimeter joints or other pertinent areas are covered or not installed properly, remediation is required. SGC can help determine this.

Natural stones, and other facade materials, may present damage that is not aesthetically pleasing however, these defects are exposing underlying issues in the areas of installation, excessive movement, and joint compression, which can cause damage to adjacent substrates, moisture infiltration or separation from building.

Whether a physical defect is a result of improper fabrication or poor construction during installation, it can lead to improper thickness and/or coverage or joint compression, which further results in moisture infiltration, rusting the anchors and causing failure to the sealants and barriers.

Roofing systems are to be designed and installed to drain the water off the roof, not penetrate through it. Moisture from the roof can infiltrate into the building through the ceilings and walls. After the damage is done, SGC often discovers, failed welds, systems anchored through the membranes, loose seams, and open joints.

A below grade surface, such as a parking garage is exposed to moisture, impact, and expansion/contraction, which can lead to damage, such as cracks, spalls, joint differentiation, causing instability, infiltration and potential hazards to vehicles and pedestrians. SGC can help remediate before they become danger zones.

SGC's team is trained to complete adhesion tests, understand proper coverage of sealants and wet seal requirements, along with when to use bond breaker tapes, etc. This is all pertinent to ensure voided warranties and maintenance issues do not occur.

Concealed spaces can often lead to the discovery of incorrect anchors, overlayment of previously installed facades, and exclusion of air/water vapor barrier, insulation, weep holes and flashing to properly evacuation moisture intrusion.
